AssetWise Director Help

To Add a Physical Item Structure Type

AssetWise allows different physical item structure types. This lets you define a name for each physical item structure and associate a specific document class that will be used as the list document by the community.

Examples of physical item structure types are Bills-of-Material, Serialized Item Lists, Maintenance Significant Component Lists, etc.

Note: Before you add a new physical item structure type, make sure that an appropriate document class of type Item List or Serial List already exists. See Managing Classes and Attributes .
  1. Open the System Admin tab (View > System Administration).
  2. Set the default scope.
  3. Click the Maintain List Values icon .
  4. Select Physical Item Structure Type.

The Physical Item Structure Type tab opens in the Content pane.

  5. Go to the next available row and do the following:
    1. Click in the Description field and enter a name for the structure type.
    2. Click the Class list and select a document class.
    3. Click the Save icon at the end of the row.
Note: If you are adding or modifying multiple structure types, you can save all your changes at once using the Save icon in the main toolbar. You can also delete a structure type by clicking the Delete icon at the end of the row for that type.
